REVIEW: Innisfree Green Tea Sleeping Pack

Innisfree claims to replenish moisture in the skin with freshly squeezed green tea leaf extract for a dewy and translucent complexion with this little sleeping pack.

It boosts the main ingredient green tea, which has lovely anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial (help treats acne and clogged pores) properties – and is also jam-packed with antioxidants for anti-aging!

80ml of green tea goodness!

Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Propanediol, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Betaine, Trisiloxane, 1, 2 – Hexanediol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate, Acrylates/ C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Amoonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate, Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Ethylhexyglycerin, Trehalose, Hydrogenated c6-14 Olefin Polymers, Fragrance

Highlighted in orange are ingredients that are known acne/ irritant triggers according to a analysis. Just looking at the ingredients, it’s pretty much a clean sweep – the fact that the Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (Green tea extract) is first on the list means most of the formulation is comprised of the star ingredient! Woohoo!

But obligatory disclaimer here: if you know for a fact you have an adverse reaction to any of the above mentioned ingredients, then this product is not for you!

Ingredient list and directions – use as the final step of your skincare routine, and gently massage onto your face avoiding lip and eye areas!

This product has lasted me for about three months of use – and there’s still quite a lot left to go! It’s not too expensive as a sleeping pack and considered that it will last you a while, it’s worth a try just for that.

The packaging of Innisfree products have always appealed to me – they are very eco-friendly, printing on biodegradeable paper packaging with soy ink so the least amount of harm is done to the environment.

Nice minimal packaging.

The smell of the Innisfree Green Tea line, is known to be quite strong and fragrant – so if you have a particularly sensitive nose or have reactions to fragrance, then keep that in mind before looking up this product!

Personally, I really like the smell – it is fragrant and floral. I would describe it as smelling fresh, with some sweet notes in there.

The plastic packaging is not flimsy at all – the screw-on cap is sturdy and the actual pot itself is made up of a thick plastic.

The texture is somewhere between a cream and a gel – it’s not as thick as a heavy night cream, and it’s lightweight enough to dry down fast on your skin, and it won’t leave you feeling greasy after application. There are small sugar beads in the formulation, that burst and release extra moisture when you’re gently massaging the product into your face. I think it’s a nice little added touch that makes this feel like I’m really pampering my skin!

After using this for a few months, I suggest that the best way to use this product is to apply it at the very end of your evening routine, but a few hours before bed so it has the chance to soak into your skin. I tried applying it right before bed once and regretted it as it ended up all over my pillows (I am a big time side sleeper), but I found if I let it sit on my face for a few hours, I didn’t have this problem at all as my skin drank it all up.

It doesn’t feel heavy at all – which makes it great for hot summer nights! It leaves a slight occlusive film that seals your whole routine in for maximum moisture absorption as you sleep.

That all being said, I have to say that I am so in love with this sleeping pack – every time I use it, I wake up in the morning with such a nice, bright complexion! My skin is definitely dewy and has a nice glow. Areas of redness on my face definitely calm down when I use this during the night, giving me a very even and smooth complexion. I also adore how it lightens my dark under eyes, and my skin just generally feels so plump and hydrated!

The Verdict

Overall, I’d have to say this is a product you absolutely need to try if you are on the fence about it! Green tea has become one of my favorite skincare ingredients thanks to this little sleeping pack – it’s perfect for my combo dry/oily skin and does wonders for evening out my complexion.

I rate this a 5/5 and look forward to treating my skin with this every time I use it!

BUT, I have read news that Innisfree is reformulating this product (as of 2018), and pretty much everything else in their green tea line (heartbreaking news, I know) so I can’t speak for the effects of the new reformulation. I am super keen to try that out and see if it’s just as good as this one!

So stay tuned for that, but if you are able to get your hands on any formulations of this product BEFORE 2018, then this is the product I love so much and highly recommend you get your hands on!
