Laneige, French for ‘snow’, is a luxury Korean beauty brand with a focus on helping customers achieve a radiance in their skin and a dewy complexion.
Claiming to purify and revitalize your skin, soothe and calm, and lock in moisture as the final step of your PM routine, this 15ml tester pot does not disappoint.
On the website, this sleeping mask claims to have a refreshing and relaxing “Sleepscent” fragrance to relax both body and mind. Opening this little tester, the scent is not overpowering at all, it’s not too floral and does not smell artificial. It’s a very light, refreshing scent that is similar to a subtle lavender – I can’t exactly pinpoint what the smell is – it’s that subtle! But it is a very soothing smell and makes you want to curl up in your PJs and sleep the night away.
Upon application, my skin immediately feels the hydrating and moisturizing effects. The gel-like texture applies smoothly and evenly and doesn’t dry down in too long. To me, it’s the perfect consistency I like in a sleeping mask as I feel like it locks in all the moisture it promises and won’t be smeared off my pillow easily in the night. Tip: if you don’t want to feel like your face is slathered in product right before bed, apply the sleeping pack an hour or two before you sleep so it has the chance to dry out on your skin a bit.
Similar to the soothing feel of aloe gel, this sleeping mask definitely soothes and calms the redness around my nose which is a great relaxing feeling when you’re about to go to bed.
The next morning, excited to see its effects in the mirror – I was blown away by how smooth and hydrated my skin was! The dry patches and flakiness around my nose was gone, my complexion was even, smooth and happily hydrated!
I’m very happy with how quickly this product worked for me, and as a first impression (2-3 uses), it does live up to the claims it advertises.
I rate Laneige Water Sleeping Mask a 4/5.
I will definitely consider purchasing the 70ml pot after running out my other sleeping packs. Since Laneige is a luxury brand, this is a pricier product, so I’ve removed a point off a perfect score. This is a fantastic product, but not my holy grail sleeping pack/mask (Sorry, Laneige, but that spot’s been taken! I’ll cover this product in another post). But if you want a nice treat that will definitely last for more than a couple of months, then I really really recommend this sleeping mask!
For those of us with dry or flaky skin, or if you’re just entering the colder months this product will do wonders for you in keeping your skin fresh and moisturized! 🙂
